Coach Mo has a long history with Public Speaking beginning in her 6th grade class, when her teacher pulled to the side and told her she had a talent he had never seen! She never forgot that moment and continued on her journey in High School competing in the Original Oratory category and placed as a finalist for the New York State Speech Finals competition.
Continuing on her journey, Coach Mo acquired a lifetime of learning. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Hampton University, a Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Organizations from The George Washington University, and a M.S. in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University.
She is also a (2x) Distinguished Toastmaster with Toastmasters International, a communications and leadership organization. A Toastmaster for 10 years, Mo rose up the leadership ranks and became a Select Distinguished Governor for Northern Virginia Toastmasters, District 29, serving over 4,500 members. Mo also became a District Speech Champion in the 2008 Table Topics (Impromptu Speech) competition.
Today, she is retired from her law enforcement career and serves as a Professional Public Speaking Coach, a Professor in Communications at Northern Virginia Community College, and volunteers in her community serving as a Community Judge/Expert for various speech competitions for the past 8 years.
