Class Description

Junior Academy (Grades K–2)

Program Overview

This is a one-day per week, 4.5-hour drop-off program for students that runs from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm. The parent is NOT required to stay on campus during this time. All teachers have had a background check completed.

We cover literature, art, history, and science with the students. They eat a home-packed nut-free lunch and have lots of outside recess time.

We run this program on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays.

Students are dropped off in our kiss-and-ride line and picked up at the end of the day in the same manner. Caregivers never need to leave their car!

Literature

Welcome to the magical world of Storytime Explorers, where young adventurers in grades K–2 embark on literary adventures filled with joy and wonder! Brimming with laughter, learning, and boundless imagination. With no homework, we focus on cultivating a love for reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

Science

This fall, our Juniors will investigate the wonders of the natural world. This course will help students understand basic scientific principles and the wonders of the world around them through books, observations, and hands-on activities like art projects, movement, and experiments.

Junior Art

Our junior art class is designed to spark creativity and develop artistic skills. This year, we will learn to use a wide variety of art materials including scissors and crayons, tempera paint, watercolors, clay, foam clay, recycled and natural materials.

We will build creativity and artistic skills through drawing, painting, pottery, and other crafts! Let’s create together!

History

This fall, students will embark on an immersive journey across two of the world’s most culturally rich continents to rediscover the Great Civilizations of Asia and Africa. Our exploration will go beyond the map as we dive into the daily lives, enduring accomplishments, and legendary stories that shaped humanity. We won’t just read about history; we will see it through the people themselves, by examining their art, architecture, and inventions. Students will engage in specialized activities so that they will have the opportunity to connect with these ancient societies.
