High School Philosophy and Implications in the Contemporary World
Teacher: Renee Jackson
In this course, we will explore the world of classical philosophy, the philosophies of the enlightenment, and modern philosophies. As we come to understand the role of contemplation of the human condition , we will look at contemporary world issues and analyze how these philosophical perspectives fit into new world schemas. Part of this exploration will require an examination of politics, cultural clashes, social media, and environmental concerns. This class will work best for mature students who are comfortable discussing sometimes disturbing world events.
